German Shortbread Cookies - Heidesand -

About this Recipe

"Heidesand" cookies are traditional German brown butter Shortbread cookies. But don't be fooled by their basic look! The browned butter and the fact that they're made without eggs give them a very unique, buttery soft and tender texture. These are one of my all-time favorite holiday cookies! This shortbread recipe can also easily be modified, by adding chocolate chips, Matcha, cocoa, ginger and lemon for a zesty twist.
