Tools

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 398 ml diced tomatoes (1 small can)
  • ½ onion (½ large onion or 1 medium sized onion)
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • chili oil / chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Peel and chop the onion and the garlic clove. Keep both ingredients separated. The sauce will be blended at the end, so don't put too much effort into fine chopping.
  • Heat the olive oil in a small pot on medium high heat. Add the onions first.
  • When the onions turn translucent, add chopped garlic clove and stir fry both for another minute.
  • Next, add the oregano, the canned diced tomatoes, salt, pepper and sugar, stir well and turn heat to medium low.
  • Simmer for 5-7 minutes, then blend the sauce using a handblender according to your liking (more or less chunky or completely smooth). Remove from heat and let the sauce cool down. Your sauce is now ready to use for your pizza!
